A bit of good news, sirs.

Yesterday at around 1640H, FOIC, PN Adaci and I talked over phone about the issue of encroachment.   He informed me that he sought and attended a  meeting at DND (OIC, DND was not there), presented the problem he has encountered with AFPOVAI and consulted on courses of action relative to their relocation project, particularly their SOQ project that will encroach on our area.

In the end, he said that he had recommended to DND some needed adjustments to their housing project based on BCDA Chair’s suggestion to them to move some structures somewhere so as not to infringe on the AFPOVAI property. 

I thanked him for looking at the option of resolving the conflict issue by relocating part of their project elsewhere and commented that they have enough space, anyway. But he admitted that they were pressed for real estate after giving up their residential space to the Senate complex. 

It was just a short exchange. And I decided to skip the golf course entirely over the phone. There’s another day for that. So I kept our conversation brief and cordial. I noted, however, that FOIC, PN’s recommendation, including relocation in other areas, must be translated yet in writing and gain endorsement and final approval.

Until and unless we see the approved modified PN residential housing designs, we will not rest easy. In fact, the whole AFPOVAI Board has decided to release the manifesto calling on the PN to stop their encroachment tmrw.

In any case, given the operational tempo of the Navy’s activities and moves and our countermoves this past week, it was reassuring for now to know from the FOIC, PN himself that they have decided to look for other areas and avoid encroaching into AFPOVAI’S property.
